Mail Minted vs Google Workspace

Workspace prices per seat.
You're not a seat.

Google Workspace is a good product built for companies with staff. If you're one person with a trade, you end up paying for an office suite to get an email address — and still have to buy the domain somewhere else and paste the DNS records in yourself.

Find your domain No DNS records to touch — we do that part.
Like for like

The same three things, priced two ways.

One domain, three mailboxes, and a link-in-bio page on that domain — the setup a one-person business actually wants.

Where Google is the better buy

Sometimes you should just buy Workspace.

We don't do any of the following, and if you need them, Google is the right answer and we'd rather you got what you needed.

  • You need the office suite. Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive and Meet are a real product, deeply integrated, and we have nothing equivalent.
  • You have staff, or expect to. Shared drives, admin controls, SSO and retention policies are built for teams. Per-seat pricing stops looking silly the moment there are seats.
  • You need lots of storage in one pool. Business Starter pools 30 GB per user. Our mailboxes start at 5 GB and expand, but we're not a file store.
Where we're the better buy

If it's just you, the maths changes.

  • Nothing to configure. Google gives you records to paste into a registrar you bought from separately. MX conflicts and DKIM are where most people abandon the job. We register the domain and set every record ourselves.
  • The bio page is included. Workspace has no equivalent, so the comparison above has to bolt one on. Ours comes with a theme for your trade and takes payments with no cut.
  • Extra mailboxes cost a tenth as much. $10 a year here against roughly $84 a year for another Workspace seat — the gap widens every time you add someone.
  • One bill and one login. Not a registrar, a mail provider and a bio-page subscription renewing on three different dates.

Find the domain first — the mailboxes and the bio page are handled from there. Also worth a look: how we compare to Linktree.
